The journey of a masterpiece
To create a small masterpiece from a shell, the process is complex and delicate. Starting with the smooth side, the engraver traces the shape of the piece they intend to work, onto the cup of the chosen shell, and cuts the shape. They carefully and skilfully finish the edges, so that they are perfectly smooth and the right size.
